Google Chrome could soon gain a “Help me write” AI tool

Google has been steadily introducing its AI technology across its products. But now it looks like the next product that will be getting its AI tools will be Chrome for desktop. According to a report, this will come in the form of the “Help me write” AI tool that can also be found in other Google services like Gmail, Google Docs, and so on.

For those unfamiliar, “Help me write” is an AI tool that will help users generate messages and writings based on prompts. According to the report from 9to5Google, the version for Chrome is expected to be called “Compose” or “CCO” and will work slightly differently compared to other iterations.

While it will still rely on users to enter prompts to help the AI generate a message, it will also use the contents of the page you’re on in order to get a bit more context on what to write. For example, if you’re at a restaurant’s Yelp page or Google Maps listing and you’re thinking of how to compose a review, you can use this tool to help give you some ideas on where to start.

At the moment the feature isn’t live yet as it is hidden behind a flag that needs to be enabled. We’re not sure when Google will roll it out to the public, but if you’re keen on checking it out, then this could be something to keep an eye out for in the future.
