Prepare your wallets, the Pixel 8 Pro won’t be cheap

0

Ever since the Pixel 7a was introduced with a price hike, there have been rumors abound suggesting that the same could happen to the Pixel 8 series. Now thanks to a post by @MysteryLupin on X, we have an idea of how much the phones could cost, and they will not be cheap.

According to the leak, the base Pixel 8 model will be priced starting at $699 and will go up to $759 for the 256GB model. As for the Pixel 8 Pro, the base 128GB model will cost $999, the 256GB $1,059, and the 512GB model $1,179, which is probably the most expensive Pixel phone we’ve seen to date (Pixel Fold notwithstanding).

We’re not sure what could have led to the price increase, especially since over the years Google’s Pixel phones have been priced lower than other flagships out there. Maybe it’s the increased spending in R&D, or maybe the price of components have gone up, or maybe it could be something else, but either way if those prices are accurate, we imagine that there will be some people who won’t be too thrilled by it.

Either way, we’ll have all the official details later on so be sure to check back with us if you’d like to know more about the upcoming Pixel 8 smartphones!
