Withings’ Newest ScanWatch Models Feature Big Upgrades

While most people are familiar with smartwatches from the likes of Apple and Samsung, it’s not exactly a secret that Withings – one of the world’s biggest medical equipment manufacturers – has likewise expressed a desire to win over buyers looking for a capable smart wearable. As such, Withings recently announced that it was launching two new smartwatches, the Withings ScanWatch 2 and ScanWatch Light.

Withings clearly has its sights set on the competition with the new wearables. As per a statement from the company:

The ScanWatch lineup is a significant disrupter in the smartwatch sector, offering an elegant alternative to strapping a mini smartphone to the wrist. The truly beautiful timepieces offer some of the most advanced health tracking capabilities on the market and are packed full of technology to make continuous measurements autonomous and effortless without the need to charge batteries daily.

The ScanWatch 2 succeeds the original ScanWatch, and now sits as Withings’ new flagship hybrid wearable. It comes with a robust set of sensors onboard that allow users to track different metrics, including female cycle tracking, heart rate variability, as well as automatic activity tracking for over 40 different workouts. It’s also able to keep an eye on users’ baseline body temperature, using TempTech24/7 technology from Withings.

Withings adds that the watch will be able to keep an eye on a user’s stats 24/7, thanks to a battery that can last for up to 30 days. Furthermore, the device’s HealthSense OS has also been updated for better power efficiency, which automatically detects the best time to measure metrics, without significant impact on battery.

For buyers after something a bit more affordable, Withings also offers the ScanWatch Light, which likewise comes with heart health, activity and cycle tracking, sleep monitoring, in addition to the same optimizations with HealthSense technology. The device will also come with 30-day battery endurance.

The ScanWatch 2 will be available in 38 and 42mm variants, and comes priced starting at £319.95 with a Silver Black variant (42mm), silver white (38mm), silver black (38mm), Rose Gold (38mm), and later on with a Silver white face (42mm) and Rose Gold blue face (38mm).

Meanwhile, the ScanWatch Light comes in 37mm and is available for pre-order via Withings.com, priced at £229.95 with a silver black, silver white and rose gold sand face, and later on with a light blue and light green face. Both models will be available starting October 2023.
