August 2023 Update Arrives for Google Pixel Devices


It’s that time of the month again – Google has finally released the latest OTA update for several of its Pixel smartphone models, and if you own a supported device then you might want to check if your Pixel phone can download the latest software update.

The update will be available for different Pixel phones, including the Pixel 4a and 4a 5g, Google Pixel 5, Pixel 5a, Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, Pixel 7, 7a and 7 Pro, as well as Google’s newest devices, the Pixel Fold and Pixel Tablet. In addition to the monthly security patch, Google has also listed the included performance fixes for select Pixel models, which are mentioned below:

  • Fix for issue occasionally causing Bluetooth keyboards to not connect [1]

  • Fix for issue causing certain Live Wallpapers to display incorrectly in different device orientations [2]
  • Fix for issue occasionally causing lock screen to not respond [2]
  • Fix for issue occasionally causing home screen launcher search input to not register [2]
  • Fix for issue occasionally causing flickering or glitches while in Hub Mode [3]

To see if your Pixel phone can download the new update, simply head into your Settings app, and then select “System” to view the System Update menu.
