Transferring WhatsApp chat histories will soon be as easy as scanning a QR code

0

Right now, if you want to transfer your WhatsApp from one device to another, it can be a tricky process. But it seems that in the future, it will be as quick and painless as scanning a QR code.

This is according to a post on Facebook by Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg, who shared a video that showed the chat history transfer process where all users need to do is scan a QR code, wait, and you’re done.

That being said and before you get too excited, take note that this feature only works on devices running the same platform. This means that it only works from Android to Android, and iOS to iOS, and not iOS to Android and vice versa. That would have been much better, in our opinion, but we suppose it’s still a good thing to have

Another thing to keep in mind is that right now, the feature is still in beta which means that not everyone will have access to it. Hopefully Zuckerberg’s public announcement of the feature means that it’s close to launch, but either way we’ll just have to wait and see when it does eventually become available.
