Samsung Announces “Game Portal,” its One-Stop Gaming Shop


While Samsung isn’t probably the first name that comes to mind when you think of gaming, the South Korean electronics giant has nonetheless integrated gaming-centric services into its hardware and software, and its latest service is no different. More specifically, Samsung recently announced its upcoming plans to launch the Samsung Game Portal, an online store that revolves around gaming hardware and content.

The Game Portal will be accessible via Samsung’s website across 30 countries, and will serve as an online store where users can browse and purchase Samsung equipment including monitors, SSDs, as well as gaming-related content from the web. Samsung adds that it has designed the Game Portal to provide users with a variety of content including information on gaming products, reviews, and more. Evelyn Kim, Executive Vice President of the D2C Center at Samsung Electronics states:

“Gaming has become an important part of consumers’ lifestyle, not just entertainment, especially for Millennials and Gen Z… We will implement various initiatives to provide customers with a superior gaming experience, from purchase to use, by providing an environment that makes it enjoyable and easy to purchase gaming-related products.”

Samsung Game Portal is expected to debut in the U.S., the U.K., Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Brazil in late June, with other regions to follow. Samsung is also offering discounts on certain gaming bundles, in addition to a variety of regional purchasing incentives on its Odyssey gaming monitor and Neo QLED 8K products.
