The POCO F5 and F5 Pro are Finally Here

0

POCO has finally announced its two newest handsets for this year, the POCO F5 and F5 Pro. Aimed at buyers looking for midrange handsets, the two phones come with some surprisingly nice hardware, and competitive pricing as well.

POCO F5 Pro

First up is the POCO F5 Pro, which comes equipped with a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 3200 x 1440 pixel resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, and a maximum brightness of 1400 nits. The phone features a fairly-attractive design, which includes IP53 splash protection (no dips in the pool with this one) and Gorilla Glass 5 protection for the screen. The F5 Pro runs on the slightly older Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip, with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage.

In terms of imaging hardware, the phone comes with a triple camera setup consisting of a 64MP  main camera, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP macro lens. The front of the phone meanwhile houses a 16MP selfie camera. Other details include a 5,160mAh battery with both 67W wired and 30W wireless charging speeds, stereo speakers, an IR blaster, and Android 13 with MIUI 14. If you want to buy the POCO F5 Pro, the phone will start from $449 with an early bird deal of $429.

POCO F5

Up next is the POCO F5, which comes with some similarities to its slightly more expensive sibling. While it does feature the same camera setup and hardware, it does make some sacrifices in its other hardware features. For one, its 6.67-inch screen gets a lower 2400 x 1080 pixel resolution, and a lower brightness of 1000 nits maximum. The battery capacity has been lowered a bit to 5,000 mAh, and it lacks wireless charging.

Of course, this difference in hardware also extends to performance – inside the POCO F5 is the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 chipset, which is more commonly found in most mid-range Android phones. This is backed by up to 12GB of RAM, and up to 256GB of internal storage. Buyers can grab the Poco F5 starting from $379, with a pre-order promo price of $329.
