Google’s upcoming Pixel Tablet won’t come cheap

0

It has been a while since we last saw a Google-branded tablet, which is why we were pretty excited when Google announced their plans back in 2022 to launch a brand new Pixel Tablet. The device did not launch in 2022, so it is widely believed that it could debut at I/O 2023 next month.

If it does, we expect that details such as pricing and availability will be revealed, but we might be able to share a bit of details beforehand. This is according to a tweet by WinFuture.de’s Roland Quandt who tweeted that the Pixel Tablet is expected to be priced between 600-650 Euros.

While this sounds expensive, keep in mind that the pricing in Euros does not reflect how much it will cost in the US. If we had to hazard a guess, we expect that it could be around the $500 price range, but don’t take our word for it. That being said, even if it is cheaper compared to Euros, it still isn’t exactly what many would consider to be “cheap” or “affordable” to begin with.

If that is the pricing that Google is going for, it could be a hard sell unless it has some killer software and hardware features that would differentiate it from Apple and Samsung’s tablets. In the meantime, recent leaks have also revealed the potential pricing for the upcoming Pixel 7a and Pixel Fold at $499 and $1,799 respectively.
