For the longest time ever, the S Pen used to be an exclusive feature to Samsung’s Note series of phones, but ever since the company discontinued the lineup, the company has brought support for the S Pen to its other flagship phones, including its foldables like the Galaxy Z Fold 4.
The only problem is that the Fold 4 does not have a dedicated S Pen slot, which is a shame given that it is one of the best foldable phones today. We heard rumors that Samsung did intend to include it last year, but changed their minds at the last minute. Unfortunately for those hoping that would change with the Fold 5, it looks like it’s a no-go.
This is according to a report from South Korea from ETNews who claims that Samsung will not be including a dedicated S Pen slot in the Fold 5. The report claims that Samsung will be making some design changes that will reduce the overall weight and thickness of the phone, and as a result, there will not be room for a housing for the stylus.
What this means is that users who want to use the S Pen with the phone will have to carry the stylus around separately, which is kind of annoying as it means that they could lose it. Only time will tell if this rumor pans out, so until then, take it with a grain of salt for now.
