Oppo’s highly-anticipated flagship might not see a global launch

0

We have been hearing rumors that Oppo is working on a new flagship phone in the form of the Oppo Find X6 Pro. There is plenty to be excited about the phone. For instance, it has been rumored that the handset will feature a Hasselblad-tuned camera, a massive 6.7-inch 2K display, and it could also feature one of the brightest displays we’ve seen in a smartphone.

If you were hoping to get the Find X6 Pro as your next smartphone, prepare to be disappointed. This is because a tweet by reliable tipster Ice Universe is now claiming that the Oppo Find X6 Pro might not see a global launch. This means that the phone could be exclusive to China. There is a chance it might find its way to other markets via gray imports, but you probably shouldn’t get your hopes up.

This is disappointing if it is true. Oppo has made a number of its phones available in global markets, and there are plenty of countries in Asia that have official Oppo stores, so to see Oppo skip the rest of the world is a bit of a bummer. In fact, the Oppo Find X5 Pro is available in the US, so we have to wonder about this rumored change in strategy.

It is also a bit of a head scratcher because if the Find X6 Pro is as awesome as we think it’s going to be, why wouldn’t Oppo want to make it available everywhere else? In any case, the handset has yet to be officially announced so maybe there is a chance that the rumors could be wrong, so we’ll just have to wait and see.
