The OnePlus 11 Concept Phone is Crazy – and Impressive

0

It shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone that MWC had some neat surprises from some of our favorite brands. After all, the entire event revolves around showcasing new tech products and concepts, and it was only a matter of time before OnePlus made its presence felt at the event.

More specifically, the company finally unveiled its OnePlus 11 Concept at the event, which puts a spin on the more “standard” market variant of the OnePlus 11. While the phone has been out for some time now, that hasn’t stopped OnePlus from playing around with the phone, offering a new take and what could be possible with regards to hardware and design.

Active CryoFlux

A stand-out feature that OnePlus has added to the concept model is Active CryoFlux, which the company describes as a “game-changer” in terms of mobile cooling technology. OnePlus says that Active CryoFlux was able to  to bring down a phone’s temperature during gaming sessions by up to 2.1°C, improving a game’s frame rate by 3-4 degrees, or by 1.6°C during charging, shaving 30-45s from the charging time. This is of course based on lab tests conducted by the company.

OnePlus adds that it was able to develop Active CryoFlux by essentially shrinking down the cooling capability of gaming PCs to a size that would fit a mobile phone. Active CryoFlux features an industrial-grade piezoelectric ceramic micropump at its core, connected to pipelines placed between an upper and lower diaphragm. The micropump takes up an area less than 0.2 cm2, enabling cooling liquid to circulate around the pipelines without increasing the phone’s overall size and weight.

External Design

Another element to the phone is its design, which evokes visions of cyberpunk landscapes and imagery. The rear panel shows the Active CryoFlux framework inside the phone, and also features a “magnetron-sputtering” coating where metal and alloy are deposited in tiny amounts onto the case using an electric field.

This curvy yet cybernetic design language extends around the camera module as well, creating a dark and cool aesthetic all over. Of course, this is a stark contrast of sorts to the “regular” OnePlus 11, which comes with generally the same size and shape, albeit with a more plain appearance. Launched this year, the OnePlus 11 is the company’s latest handset, which comes with specs including a 6.7-inch LTPO 3.0 AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, with up to 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

Going back to the OnePlus 11 Concept, it’s unlikely that we’ll ever see the device outside of OnePlus’ design labs although we wouldn’t mind getting our hands on this one, that much is true. Let us know your thoughts below!
