Google plans to double the number of its Pixel sales in 2023

The problem with Google’s Pixel phones is that unlike other smartphones from Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, and so on, is it isn’t available officially in certain parts of the world. This will no doubt hinder the company’s ability to sell as many phones as they possibly can, but that could change in 2023.

According to a report from the Nikkei Asia Review, the publication’s sources have revealed to them that Google apparently plans to double the number of its smartphone sales in 2023. For context, the report claims that Google had apparently ordered over 8 million units for its recently launched Pixel 7 smartphones, a slight increase over the Pixel 6 in which Google ordered over 7 million units.

So for Google to double their sales, it would mean that they would need to sell over 10 million units of its future Pixel phones. The report claims that at least part of that number will include 4 million units of a new “budget” Pixel smartphone, which presumably will be the Pixel 7a unless Google has other plans, and the rest could go toward the company’s traditional Pixel lineup.

We have heard recent rumors that suggest that Google could also have a foldable Pixel that might launch in the first quarter of 2023, so if that happens, it could help with Google’s numbers.
