Android 14 beta could be launching by April 2023

Android 13 was just released and has made its way onto Google’s Pixel handsets, which means that we can now turn our attention to the next major Android update – Android 14. According to 9to5Google, it is now speculated that the Android 14 beta could be released by April 2023.

This is according to how Google had changed the Android 13 QPR betas where it was originally intended to run until June 2023, but has now been shortened to March 2023. This means that the Android 14 Developer Preview could begin as soon as February next year, and the public beta could be released by April 2023.

In a way, this shouldn’t be too surprising given that for 2022 and Android 13, the first beta was released in late April, a month ahead of Google I/O 2022, so it looks like Google could be keeping the original schedule. As 9to5Google, the early ending of the Android 13 QPR betas would be so that Google wouldn’t have to run two beta programs simultaneously.

That being said, the actual release of Android 14 won’t be taking place so soon and will most likely end up being in August 2023 if we’re following Android 13’s release, but the potential February 2023 launch of the Android 14 Developer Preview means that we should have more details about the next major Android update soon.
