Fans of the popular “Torchlight” RPG franchise (and mobile RPG gamers in general) should be in for a treat – Torchlight Infinite, a mobile spin-off of the series, will be coming to mobile gaming platforms later this year. More specifically, the game is set to launch in October, with pre-registration now open for the title.
A free-to-play game, Torchlight Infinite will feature new heroes including Gemma, Rehan, Youga, Carino, Moto, and Thea, and will come with a new and original storyline. It will also apparently come with a large download size, totalling up to nearly 4GB of data (at least for the iOS version). One thing to note however is that while the game is currently available for pre-registration on the App Store and on TapTap, it still has to make its way to Google Play.
With smartphones continuing to see continuous improvements in terms of hardware, processing power, and more, we’ve seen a lot of popular gaming franchises like Call of Duty, League of Legends, and even Diablo make their way over to mobile devices.
The Torchlight franchise was originally launched on PCs and consoles, featuring similar gameplay to other action RPGs like Diablo and such. With this mobile port however, we’re hoping that it will rely less on excessive in-game microtransactions. We can expect more information about the game to be released as it nears its launch date.
