How to sync your Wordle stats across devices

Wordle made headlines earlier this year where the game’s popularity caught on and everyone around the world started playing it. The problem with Wordle is that your scores and stats are limited to the device you’re playing on, so if you care about that kind of thing, you have to keep playing on the same device if you want to maintain your streak.

This can be a bit limiting, but the good news is that you can now sync your scores and stats and streaks across devices. This is largely thanks to the New York Times acquiring Wordle where they have now implemented an account system. By creating an account with the NYTimes, you can sync your Wordle games across devices that you’re logged into, and here’s how.

Sync Wordle across devices

  1. Go to the Wordle website
  2. Click the bar graph icon located at the top right corner of the page
  3. Click “Log in or create a free account”
  4. Choose how you want to create an account. You will be able to choose between Google, Facebook, or Apple
  5. Once your account is created, your scores will be synced in the cloud and you can now play Wordle on any device and your scores will be synced up

According to the NYTimes:

“Wordle stats are currently saved locally in the browser where you play, which means different devices may save different stats.

If the browser memory is cleared, your stats will be lost.

Linking your stats to a free account means keeping your streak and stats anywhere you’re logged in.”
