“Skate Mobile” Headed to Android Phones Soon

0

Electronic Arts’ “Skate” franchise has been on several game consoles since its inception, and it seems that the skateboarding videogame series is headed to mobile devices soon.

An announcement from Full Circle Studios General Manager Dan McCulloch (as seen in the video above) mentioned that a mobile port is currently in the works, with plans for cross-play and cross-progression on mobile devices. Additionally, in-game controls will be re-worked for full compatibility on touchscreens, although there’s still no official word on compatibility with external wireless controllers.

Given that a majority of modern smartphones nowadays have the hardware and capabilities to run graphics-heavy games, this should be an exciting prospect as we’ve seen other familiar game franchises like Call of Duty and League of Legends make their way to mobile gaming platforms. Companies have even developed phones specifically tailored to effortlessly play high-end games.

Aside from what was mentioned, not much else was revealed, so fans of the franchise will have to wait for further announcements.
