A couple of months ago, AT&T announced that they would be increasing the price on some of its legacy plans. If you thought that you were safe because you are a Verizon customer, unfortunately that doesn’t appear to be the case because Verizon too has announced a price hike, or as the company calls it, an “economic adjustment change”.
This change in price will be applied to both consumer and business accounts, where the carrier is set to introduce a charge of $1.35 per voice line to your bills starting this June. Data plans are also expected to see an increase where for those with business accounts, it will jump to $2.20, while basic plans will increase by $0.98.
To be fair to Verizon, it has been about two years since the last time the carrier increased prices, and also depending on how many lines you have, this may or may not make that much of a difference to you, but it’s still something to be aware of. According to the head of Verizon Business, Tami Erwin:
“We’re all feeling the pressure and we’ve been in the process of deciding how much of that pressure we can share with our clients.”
In the meantime, in case the price adjustments are too much for your liking, UScellular has actually announced that they are promising not to raise its prices through 2023, so they might be worth taking a look at if you’re trying to save some money (and assuming UScellular’s coverage is good enough for your location).
