When it comes to Android tablets, there aren’t that many companies rushing out to make tablets as phones. Samsung probably has to be one of the most active, but it looks like Oppo is stepping into the ring. Following reports that Oppo was planning their first-ever Android tablet, the company has since debuted the Oppo Pad.
The Oppo Pad will come with an 11-inch LTPS LCD with a 2560 × 1600 resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, the tablet will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset, which is slightly disappointing as we were hoping for something like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, but then again, its price tag suggests that Oppo is trying to keep costs low.
It will also come with 6/8GB RAM and 128/256GB of storage, and also a decently-sized 8,300mAh battery with support for 33W charging. In addition to the tablet, Oppo has also debuted a stylus for the device called the Oppo Pencil with 4,096 levels of pressure sensitivity. Oppo has also borrowed the iPad Pro’s idea for charging the stylus by connecting it to the tablet magnetically.
The tablet also comes with a set of speakers, a 13MP rear-facing camera, and an 8MP front-facing camera. It will run on Oppo’s ColorOS 12 and will be priced starting at CNY2,299, while the Oppo Pencil will cost CNY499. There is currently no word on whether there are plans to sell it internationally.
