After seeing the ramping up of advertisements, commercials, billboards, and potato chips, the wait is almost over. Google has announced that it will be officially unveiling the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro on October 19th at 10 am PT, or 1 pm ET.

Clicking the link in the tweet above takes you to the “Pixel Fall Launch” page where you can add the event to your Google Calendar, or download the .ics file to import into your calendar app of choice. The landing page for the event also is a bit interactive as you can hold down the spacebar on your computer to “change moods”. Essentially, this just shows off different themes and different colors being used with the Pixel 6, while playing a bit of music in the background.
After seeing the latest batch of leaks regarding the camera capabilities, we just can’t wait to get our hands on the the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. These have been touted as being the “Google Phones”, as we’re seeing Google’s foray into the world of custom-designed silicon in a smartphone. The camera hardware is also being updated for the first time in years, while being housed in a cyborg-like bar across the back of the phone.
While Google has shared quite a bit of information already regarding these devices, there’s still a lot more to learn. Initially it seemed as though the Pixel 6 series would launch alongside some new Nest Audio hardware, but it doesn’t seem that will be the case. Instead, we’re hoping the event solely focuses on the Pixel 6, along with any accessories that will be arriving alongside the phones.
