Next week is shaping up to be one of the busiest weeks of the year. In addition to Samsung Unpacked coming on August 11th, Xiaomi has now confirmed it is hosting an event on August 10th. The event was confirmed by Xiaomi founder Lei Jun (via Android Authority), and is said to cover “good news”, while focusing on the “10 most difficult choices” that the company has faced.

If you’re noticing a lot of “10’s” going around, it’s because August 10th is also the company’s 10th-anniversary. But in addition to providing some insight into the company’s history, Xiaomi is also expected to launch at least two new devices with the Mi Mix 4 and Mi Pad 5. We also could be provided with our first look at MIUI 13, which is based on Android 12.

Rumors surrounding the Mi Mix 4 point to another behemoth of a flagship Android phone. The device is said to be powered by the Snapdragon 888 SoC and will have up to 12GB of RAM along with 256GB of storage.

Xiaomi has also been rumored to be working on its first under-panel selfie camera, which could make its debut with the Mi Mix 4. Other rumored specs include a 4,500mAh battery with wireless charging and 120W fast wired charging.

As for the Mi Pad 5, the update to Xiaomi’s tablet line is long overdue. It’s been three years since the last Mi Pad was introduced, and the Mi Pad 5 is said to offer potential wireless charging, keyboard support, and a quad-speaker array. We could see a total of three different Mi Pad 5 tablets announced. All of these are expected to feature 120Hz displays, along with at least one model using a 2K panel.
