OnePlus Watch will be getting an always-on display in a future update

The OnePlus Watch was launched last month where for just $160, it seemed like quite a bargain for those who wanted a smartwatch, but it wasn’t necessarily the smoothest of launches. Those who got their hands on the device had expressed less than favorable reviews of it.

For those holding out on the hope that OnePlus will manage to deliver, you’ll be pleased to learn that the company has announced in the forums that they are planning a host of new features in a future update. This includes the much-asked for feature of having an always-on display.

This is a very useful feature to have as it will let you see the time, at the very least, when you look at the watch. This is just one of many features that the company has planned, which also includes a remote control for the camera for Android smartphones, 12-hour time formats, additional language support, enabling all 110+ workout modes, and the AI watch face.

This comes on the heels of a recent update to the watch that includes improvement to the watch’s GPS performance, accuracy of activity tracking, optimized heart rate monitoring algorithm, bug fixes, and more.

To be fair, this is the company’s first attempt at a wearable so we expect that things won’t go as smoothly as they would have liked, but for $160, it is quite a steal for what you are getting.
