Fossil Gen 5E Wear OS smartwatches launched

0

While the Apple Watch might dominate the smartwatch scene, Fossil is actually doing a pretty good job for those who want an alternative to the Apple Watch. In fact, the company has recently taken the wraps off what they’re calling its Gen 5E series of smartwatches which offers up additional choices when it comes to the design.

For those unfamiliar, Fossil’s smartwatches have pretty much only come in one size – 44mm. While this is fine for some, others might find it a bit too big or bulky. One of the main changes that Fossil is introducing with the Gen 5E models is the option of choosing a smaller watch size at 42mm.

Despite packing a smaller body, Fossil reassures customers that the 42mm Gen 5E models will offer up the same features as the Gen 5, so if you have a smaller wrist, you can now choose a watch that won’t look too bulky. There will also be new models for customers to choose from, where the 44mm size will offer up three new men’s designs, while there will be four new women’s models to choose from the 42mm design.

The difference in size is pretty much the biggest change, and the Gen 5E watches will offer up the same features of the Gen 5 models. This includes a built-in speaker so that you can answer phone calls, a redesigned UI, built-in health tracking capabilities, NFC payments, smart battery mode, and water-resistance, just to name a few. All Gen 5E models will be priced at $249.
