According to the rumors, OnePlus is working on a new handset in the form of the OnePlus Z, the long-awaited successor to the OnePlus X. Also, with OnePlus promising that they will be returning to making budget phones, it is largely expected that the OnePlus Z will be an affordable handset.
But how affordable? Turns out, very.
This is according to a recent survey shared in the DesiDime forums in which users are asked if they might be interested in buying a OnePlus smartphone with certain specs and at a certain price. According to the survey, the price of the phone is said to be at Rs24,990, which after conversion is roughly $330, potentially making it the company’s cheapest smartphone in a long, long time.
The survey also hinted at possible specs of the OnePlus Z, in which it mentions the use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G chipset with support for 5G, a triple camera setup on the back with a combination of 64MP + 16MP + 2MP sensors. There is also mention of a 90Hz display, a 4,300mAh battery with 30W fast charging, and it will also come with 6GB of RAM and a 6.55-inch Super AMOLED display.
Now, all of these specs are simply theoretical as it comes in the form of a survey. There’s no way to guarantee that these are the specs or the price of the OnePlus Z, so don’t get your hopes up for now, but hopefully we’ll have more details soon. In the meantime, we have heard that the company is expected to host an event in July where the phone will be officially announced.
