T-Mobile will be passing on the Samsung Galaxy Fold

0

Just yesterday, Samsung had officially confirmed that the Galaxy Fold foldable smartphone will be making its return in September. This is no doubt good news for those who have been eagerly anticipating the handset, but it seems that not everyone is too excited about the upcoming handset, such as T-Mobile.

According to a report from The Verge, it appears that T-Mobile has decided that they will not be carrying the Galaxy Fold. The company claims that they already offer a wide range of the latest smartphones, as if implying that is good enough reason that they will not be offering the Galaxy Fold. According to a statement they received:

“T-Mobile will not carry the Galaxy Fold because we already offer customers a wide range of the latest smartphones. Please reach out to Samsung for any further inquiries.”

It is odd that T-Mobile has decided that they will be passing up on the handset, especially since together with AT&T, they were the only two major carriers in the US to offer the phone at launch. That being said, you can still buy the phone unlocked and we reckon that it should not have any issues being used on T-Mobile’s network, just don’t expect to be able to pay it back through an installment plan.

As for AT&T, the carrier has yet to officially announce anything yet. The company had to cancel pre-orders of the handset earlier as they weren’t sure when the phone would be released again.
