Pre-order the Samsung Galaxy Fold from AT&T, devices to arrive by April 25

0

AT&T is now taking pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Fold. The service provider will allow you to pay the full $1979.99 or split the price of the phone into 30 payments of $66.00. The official retail launch date for the Samsung Galaxy Fold is April 26, but the website claims that those who pre-order the phone will be able to have it delivered as early as April 25.

The price of the Samsung Galaxy Fold may seem a bit outrageous, but the device does come with a Snapdragon 855, 12GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, a total of 6 cameras, a 4.6-inch display on the outside of the device and of course the 7.3-inc foldable display on the side. The price of the phone reflects the added cost of the flexible display and added battery capacity, but we should see foldable smartphone pricing drop over the next year or two as the technology becomes cheaper to manufacture.

It’s still unclear how popular the Samsung Galaxy Fold or other foldable smartphones will be. At their current prices, only select smartphone enthusiasts will be buying these phones, but we can see them becoming a lot more popular if Samsung and other manufacturers can get the price below the $1,500 mark.
