OnePlus CEO hints at device announcement for this Wednesday

0

With all the rumors we’ve been hearing about the OnePlus 7, we are pretty excited to see what the company might have cooking. An earlier report had suggested that OnePlus might launch the handset next month on the 14th of May, but now in a tweet by the company’s CEO, Pete Lau, perhaps the announcement could take place earlier than we thought.

According to Lau, he acknowledged how many are excited to hear about the upcoming OnePlus 7, and that we should check back on Wednesday to learn more. We should point out that Lau’s tweet does not in any way mention the OnePlus 7, nor does it mention a smartphone specifically. Instead, Lau refers to it as the “new device”.

We’re not sure if Lau is being cagey on purpose or if this announcement could be about something else entirely, but as we said, the OnePlus 7 is currently the only device we know that the company is working on, so unless OnePlus has a surprise up their sleeves, there is a good chance that Lau could be referring to the handset.

Alternatively, it is possible that his reveal on Wednesday would be the confirmation of the 14th of May launch date, but we’ll have to wait and see. So far the rumors surrounding the OnePlus 7 include how it might ditch the notch and feature a popup camera instead. We have also heard how there could be multiple variants of the phone, such as the OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, and the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G.
