Google expected to launch Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL on May 7

0

Google doesn’t appear to want to keep the release date of the budget Pixel devices a secret as an announcement teaser for the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL has appeared on the Google Store.

The poster reveals a simple message “On May 7, something big is coming to the Pixel universe.” The announcement comes shortly after Stephen Hall from 9to5Google tweeted that sources had suggested both the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL would be going online on May 7.

Rather unsurprisingly, the May 7 release date coincides with the first day of Google I/O 2019 developer conference. The release of the budget orientated devices could be a nice way to open the keynote.

As well as the release date of the Pixel 3a and Pixel 3a XL, the prices of the devices were also leaked earlier today that suggests the price of the devices could be higher than originally anticipated. The two Pixel devices are expected to be positioned as more affordable products in the Pixel series and be spec’d as such with a slower processor than the current Pixel 3. However, with smartphones pushing the $1000 mark, an affordable price tag can be somewhat relative.

Regardless, it seems that we won’t have long to wait until Google officially unveils the two new Pixel devices on May 7, even though we pretty much know everything already.
