Nokia 6.2 leaked specs hint at in-display selfie camera, no notch

For the longest time ever, Samsung had resisted putting a notch in its smartphones, unlike its competitors who were quick to embrace it, despite the fact that many consumers seemed to criticize it. Instead, Samsung opted to go with the punch-hole display with the launch of the Galaxy A8s, a design that its upcoming Galaxy S10 smartphones are said to adopt as well.

Samsung won’t be alone in adopting this design because according to a tweet by Nokia_Leaks, HMD Global is also expected to adopt a similar design choice for the Nokia 6.2. This is an upcoming mid-range device from the company and if the tweet is accurate, we could be looking at a punch-hole in the display where the front-facing camera will be residing.

Interestingly enough this might not be the first or only Nokia phone to use such a design. Earlier this month alleged renders of the Nokia 8.1 were leaked which also showed that the phone could be adopting the punch-hole display. This isn’t a design that won’t be used for the flagship Nokia 9 PureView. It is possible that this could be because the PureView might have been in development since 2018 and it is too late to make any changes.

The leak also reveals some of the alleged specs for the phone which includes the use of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 chipset with 4GB of RAM, 64GB of storage, a 16MP dual rear-camera setup with Zeiss, and OZO Audio. It has also been pegged for a late January or early February launch, so there is a chance it could be announced alongside the Nokia 9 PureView.
