LG Pay (LG Wallet) will finally be arriving in the US by June of this year

While the US mobile payment market is dominated by the likes of Samsung Pay, Apple Pay, and now Google Pay, LG is still looking to make an impact in the US. The company has been working on LG Pay for the better part of 2 years, but there has been no progress on bringing this payment system to the US.

A new rumor is making its rounds which suggests that LG will finally launch LG Pay in the US by June of this year. The payment system was officially introduced in LG’s home country of South Korea back in March after the LG G6 was launched, but will come to the US as LG Wallet.

It seems that LG Pay will launch in the US and will be compatible with the LG G7, which is expected to launch in March, and the LG V40 which will likely be introduced this Fall. There’s no mention as to why LG decided to change the name, except for maybe to help differentiate from the rest of the field.

Moving forward to 2019, LG Wallet will begin expanding to mid-range phones, covering LG’s entire lineup of devices by the end of next year. Meanwhile, the same report confirms that the LG G7 will be introduced at Mobile World Congress 2018 at the end of next month, before being released in the US sometime in either March or April.
