When it comes to smartwatches, there are a lot of different options on the market, but there aren’t very many that keep track of your fitness while letting you leave your phone at home. The reason why leaving your phone behind is important is because it’s definitely nice to hook up some Bluetooth headphones to your smartwatch so you’ll have some tunes while you’re on a run.
Garmin aims to offer another option on the market for those looking for an all-in-one smartwatch with the new Garmin Forerunner 645 Music. This is the successor to the Forerunner 630, but has a classier look than its predecessor.
The Forerunner 645 Music is capable of storing up to 500 songs of your choosing, while also being compatible with the likes of iHeartRadio, Deezer, and more. This will make life much easier for those who don’t want to worry about lugging their smartphone around just to be able to listen to music, while the smartwatch does all of the heavy lifting.
On top of being able to keep track of your favorite music playlists, the Forerunner 645 Music also features Garmin Pay. This contactless payment method was launched back in November of last year, and is now making its way to more Garmin smartwatches.
As for other features, the Forerunner 645 Music features the ability to track activities such as steps taken, distance traveled, calories burned, floors climbed, and heart rate. This also means that the smartwatch features built-in GPS and GLONASS to help keep track of how far you have run.
The Forerunner 645 Music is currently listed on Garmin’s website for $449.99, but there is a non-music edition available for $399.99. We don’t have a specific launch date, but the Garmin website states that the smartwatch will be available in 5-8 weeks.
