Samsung is said to be working on mobile AI chips

0

Artificial intelligence is a big deal in tech right now. Software is obviously a big part of it, but hardware plays an equally important role. Several manufacturers have announced chips for AI processing and now Samsung is entering the ring.

Samsung is said to be looking into the development of dedicated processors for handling AI. Sources say they have already begun the research and development, and they aim to be ready in the next few years.

You might be wondering why a dedicated AI chip is even necessary. Currently, AI relies heavily on cloud-based processing. This can be slow and unreliable at times. Having the information stored locally with dedicated chips would greatly improve the experience.
