We could see the Galaxy Note 8 launched much sooner than expected

Next Thursday is going to be a big deal (pun intended) for Samsung, as the company is hosting another Unpacked event in New York City. The company will be unveiling the new Samsung Galaxy Note 8, which will likely be the talk of the town until the Galaxy S9 is launched.

While we already have a pretty good idea as to what it will look like and what specs it will feature, there is still some room for debate regarding the release date. Samsung (and other OEM’s) are notorious for giving us a look at the device, then waiting at least a few weeks before putting the device into the hands of millions.

The traditional launch method for Samsung usually starts with the unveiling, and then we see a South Korean release since that’s the company’s home country. Then a few weeks after that, those of us here in the States and across the globe are greeted with the new device.

However, there have been some conflicting reports over the last week. Initially, there was speculation that Samsung had already pushed its sales roadmap to carriers for the Galaxy Note 8. This claimed that pre-orders will begin on the September 1st, with the launch of the device to commence on September 15th.

Yesterday, a new rumor appeared to have debunked the previous claims, stating that the Galaxy Note 8 would be launched in the US on August 24th. This would be unprecedented for Samsung but comes from someone who has been verified as working with Best Buy.

There’s obviously still room for skepticism, but the employee seemingly corroborated the information with both Samsung and Verizon channels. It would be highly unusual for Samsung to launch its latest flagship in the US before launching it in its home country.

But one thing to consider is that Samsung is really hoping to have the Note 8 knock it out of the park due to the debacle that was the Galaxy Note 7. Not forcing users to wait a few weeks before getting the device in-hand would be huge, especially with news of the LG V30 heating up.

Let us know what you think about this latest rumor and when you think the Galaxy Note 8 will be made officially available.
