Earlier today, Honor held an event where some were expecting see the Honor 9 launched, however, that wasn’t the case. Instead, we saw the announcement of the Honor 6A, Honor Band A2, and 2 new tablets.
These tablets fall under a new name – the Honor Play Tab 2, and come with either an 8-inch or 9.6-inch display. Other than the display sizes, the rest of the specs are practically the same, as both are powered by the Snapdragon 425 SoC.
There are a few different configurations for the Play Tab 2 lineup. The W-Fi only variant features 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable storage, while the LTE variants come in either 2GB/16GB or 3GB/32GB. Since there is a microSD card slot on all 3 variants, storage really shouldn’t end up being too much of an issue.
Finally, Honor announced that the 8-inch Play Tab 2 is priced at $115, while the 9.6-inch 3GB RAM LTE variant is priced at around $220. It’s unlikely that we’ll see these tablets land here in the States, but we can hope to see more budget options sometime in the future.
