When the Galaxy Note 7 was released, one of the biggest reasons to purchase the device was for its security features. Between the built-in iris scanner and various other included software features, this was going to be THE device for those looking to keep their information private.
However, now that the Note 7 is dead and gone, the Samsung faithful have been wondering when and if any of those additional software features would make their way to current devices. A new screenshot shows that Samsung is considering to bring Secure Folders to the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge via download after the release of Android 7.0 Nougat.
The application will be able to be downloaded from the Galaxy Apps Store after the release of Nougat. This would be an excellent addition to anyone’s device who is looking to keep apps or files secure and private.
Of course, you wouldn’t be able to use the cool iris scanner features of the folder for obvious reasons, but you still have your fingerprint sensor and manual password.
We are expecting Android Nougat to be released for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge sometime in early 2017. So we’ll have to wait until then before we are able to take advantage of this huge security feature on our devices.
