Samsung Gear S3 launches worldwide November 18th

0

Samsung has finally announced a solid release date for the Samsung Gear S3. The device is already available for customers in South Korea starting today, but November 18th will be the day it spreads worldwide, including Australia, Dubai, France, Germany, Singapore, U.K., and U.S.

In case you need a refresher, Samsung is launching 2 variants of this thing at the same time. The Frontier Edition is meant for those looking for a rugged and durable smartwatch for your everyday needs and fitness adventures. Those looking for something a bit more stylish can latch onto the Classic model.

The devices are IP68 water and dust resistant, have integrated GPS, and a wealth of fitness-centric sensors such as heart rate, altimeter, barometer, speedometer, pedometer, and gyroscope. The watches also last up to 4 days on one charge, and they can also be used with Samsung Pay for those who are hooked into Samsung’s mobile payments system.

Unfortunately, those wanting an LTE model will have to go for the Frontier model as Samsung doesn’t seem intent on offering a Classic model with those cellular internals. It may not be a huge deal for some — LTE connectivity only ensures you can use the watch while you leave your phone at home — but that may be a bit of a deal breaker for some.

We’ll have to wait until we get closer to launch for exact pricing information, but we’d wager that you’ll need funds in the ballpark of $300 or more.
