OneDrive for Android gets document previews and collaboration notifications

0

Microsoft is adding some key features to OneDrive today for users of their storage service. To bring the Android app in line with competitors like Google Drive, Microsoft is adding the ability to preview Excel, Powerpoint, and Word documents from within the app instead of having to kick out to those respective apps.

When you want to edit the document you’re previewing, a button to take you to its app will appear at the top. You’ll need to have the auxiliary apps installed in order to open their respective file types. You can find Word here, Powerpoint here, and Excel right here.

Beyond that, the app also gains the ability to receive notifications whenever your collaboration partner begins working on a document, as well as SharePoint previews for business users. The upgrade is waiting for you at Google Play.
