Sony announces which devices will be receiving Android Nougat

0

When new versions of Android are released, the biggest question for those outside of the Nexus circle is “will my device receive the update”. Some manufacturers keep this information fairly hush-hush, but others will give everyone a bit of a tease. By tease, I mean that the OEM will state which devices will receive the update, but leave folks wondering when it will happen.

Sony is the latest to do this to its customers after releasing the list of devices that will receive the upgrade to Android 7.0 Nougat. However, there has been no type of time frame released for when these devices will see the update.

  • Sony Xperia X3+
  • Sony Xperia Z4 Tablet
  • Sony Xperia Z5
  • Sony Xperia Z5 Compact
  • Sony Xperia Z5 Premium
  • Sony Xperia X
  • Sony Xperia XA
  • Sony Xperia XA Ultra
  • Sony Xperia X Performance

If you’re an owner of any of these devices, you can be happy that it will see an update to the tastiest version of Android to date, even if that means you have to wait awhile. Unfortunately, if the Android Marshmallow rollout is anything to follow, it’ll be awhile before Android Nougat actually begins coming to compatible Sony devices.
