We’re on the ground in NYC, and if you’ve been paying attention that can only mean one thing: we’re at Verizon’s launch event for the Moto Z DROID and Moto Z Force DROID. The phones are pretty much carbon copies of the devices Lenovo revealed last month.
In case you need a refresher, the Moto Z is sporting a 5.5-inch 2560 x 1440 display, Snapdragon 820 chipset, 4GB of RAM, up to 64GB of storage, 13-megapixel rear and 5-megapixel front cameras, and more. It features metal all throughout its body and is also compatible with a great deal of Moto Mods which can extend your phone’s functionality.
As for the Moto Z Force, we’re looking at pretty much the same device, save for a couple of upgrades in key areas. The battery gets bumped from 2,800mAh to 3,500mAh, the rear camera comes in at 21 megapixels, and the device enjoys a sturdier chassis thanks to its inclusion of ShatterShield technology which makes your display virtually indestructible.
We’re not sure what else Verizon will have up its sleeve in terms of unique software features, nor do we have a clue on things like pricing, release date, and Moto Mods availability. That’s why they’re holding the event, after all, so we’re going to be bringing you all the details you crave once the event commences at 10AM Eastern. Stay tuned!
