It seems this year’s Galaxy Note model could launch earlier than ever. Last year the Samsung Galaxy Note 5 arrived in the US on August 21st and for this year’s followup — the Samsung Galaxy Note 6 — @evleaks reportedly has received word it will arrive the week of August 15th. Not much else to go on aside from that, but the August 15th week (Monday) stretches all the way until the 21st (Sunday).
So, what do we know about the phone that some call Samsung’s real flagship smartphone flagship? Well, not much. Yesterday, rumors that Samsung would be including their own version of BlackBerry Hub dubbed “Samsung Focus.” Like BB’s Hub, Focus will reportedly feature a streamlined list of important notifications. Calendar meetings, reminders, and relevant emails will all be displayed, along with quick shortcuts to your contacts. It almost sounds more like a Samsungy version of Google Now, but we’ll have to see it for ourselves before we can be sure.
Other than that, rumors of the phone coming equipped with an iris scanner, IP68 water resistance, USB Type-C, and a Snapdragon 823 have all been whispered, but no concrete evidence as of yet. It will be interesting to see exactly what kind of hardware Samsung packs into the phone and how much of an upgrade it’ll be over the recently released Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.
