HTC’s first smartwatch could arrive June 6th

0

HTC has been rumored to be working on a smartwatch for quite some time. We first heard of an Android Wear watch from them back in September 2015, and the most recent rumors suggested the company would have it ready to go in time for the launch of the HTC 10.

That never happened, of course, but the original leakster who tipped everyone off to those plans has an update. Evan Blass — otherwise known as @evleaks — has mentioned the smartwatch’s launch has now been pushed back to June 6th.

It’s quite interesting that he was willing to give a specific date this time around, so it sounds like any plans to launch the smartwatch are about as solid as solid can be.

We’re still not sure what to expect from an HTC-bred smartwatch. The company knows how to make striking phone designs, but they’re still largely new to the wearable space. They’ve had a bit of practice with the Under Armour Healthbox, so we’ll have to see if they’ve learned enough to make a device worthy of attention.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.
