LG G5 gets added to LG’s bootloader unlock tool

Looking to unlock the bootloader on your LG G5? LG’s making it pretty easy for you. The company has added the device to their bootloader unlock tool so you can unlock your device to your heart’s content. There are some restrictions, naturally:

  • This only applies to the European H850 model.
  • Your warranty is voided the moment you unlock your bootloader. Anything you do to your phone is at your own risk.
  • The bootloader process cannot be reversed, so think carefully about whether you should do it before going through with it.

While unlocking a bootloader is mainly intended for developer work, many users decide to do it so they can get their favorite custom ROMs loaded up. You should know the risks of going through with something like this, and even if you have a good reason for doing it you’ll want to weigh the possibility of not getting any device support in the event something happens.

Should you decide to pull the trigger you can find all the instructions you’ll need right here. Be sure to read through it all and understand what it is you have to do before embarking on your quest. Have at it!
