LG is opening up the LG G5 for third-party module development

With only 2 modules available for the LG G5 (one of which is limited to certain regions), we were starting to fall out of love with its modularity, but thankfully the company has plans to get us excited again. LG has announced a developer kit for creating both software and hardware.

You can create modules for the LG G5, and LG will even have a marketplace where users can go to buy modules once they’re approved for sale. Those who want to learn how to do this can get some direct education by heading to LG’s developer conference taking place in San Francisco April 15th.

So, what kind of modules do you want to see for the LG G5? I, for one, wouldn’t mind a projector to slap onto the bottom of the thing. A battery extension module wouldn’t be too bad, either. Let’s hear your dreams in the comments ahead.
