DxOMark says the Galaxy S7 Edge has the best smartphone camera ever

0

The camera experts at DxOMark have taken the Galaxy S7 Edge’s 12-megapixel camera sensor through their extensive testing gauntlet. How did it score? Well, enough to become the group’s new “best smartphone camera ever.” That mark was previously held by the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+, so we aren’t surprised Samsung was able to win them over with a repeat performance.

As you’d expect, the Galaxy S7 Edge’s camera (which is the same camera in the base Galaxy S7 model) won its praise thanks to the dual-pixel technology which makes for insanely fast focusing and its exceptional performance in low light (particularly its ability to retain more detail in low light than anything else out there).

Elsewhere, the camera is just as good as you’d expect with immaculate HDR performance, low noise and great detail in sufficient lighting conditions. You can find all these qualities on display in our Samsung Galaxy S7 review, or head on over to DxOMark to read the full report for yourself if you’re curious about the details.
