Samsung Pay is one of the most highly anticipated mobile payment platforms. It was announced back in March along with the Samsung Galaxy S6. The goal of Samsung Pay is to bridge the gap between current mobile payment platforms and physical cards. It works at virtually every retail location, which is why we’re so excited about it. Apparently, we’re not the only ones.
Executive Vice President, Injong Rhee, spoke with the official Samsung blog about Samsung Pay. The service kicked off in Korea last month, and Rhee says they are seeing an average rate of 25,000 registrations per day. He also says that about 5 out of 10 Samsung Galaxy Note 5 users were using Samsung Pay during the open beta period in Korea.
It sounds like Samsung Pay is off to a great start. We won’t be able to use it here in the U.S. until September 28th, but beta invites have already started rolling out. Will you be signing up to use Samsung Pay?
