Whenever a manufacturer launches a new phone (or a pair of new phones), the hardest part can be convincing people to drop whatever device they’re currently using and jump ship to the latest and greatest. Probably even more difficult is when they’re already entrenched iPhone users. Kicking off the launch of the Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge Plus last week, Samsung hatched a scheme to win over Apple fans: let them try out these new phones for only $1.
The promotion allowed iPhone users to test drive a brand new Galaxy Note 5 or S6 Edge Plus for a full 30 days, after which they could keep the phone or send it back — no questions asked. Needless to say, the marketing ploy was as resounding success as Samsung quickly ran out of units the very next day.
Today we’re learning the few lucky enough to take part in the offer are receiving a little more incentive to stick with the new Samsung phones over their crusty old iPhone. To set them off right, Samsung is also offering $100 in Google Play credit (that’s a whole lotta apps and games) with Galaxy Note 5, S6 Edge, or S6 Edge Plus purchase, plus an extra $100 on top of whatever they get for trading in their used iPhones.
The full steps are posted on the Samsung Promotions page right here and involve simply signing in with the email you used to sign up for the promo, taking a photo of your purchase receipt, and waiting for the bucks to roll in.
