LG’s Nexus 5 2015 could launch September 29th

We haven’t been sure how far off we are from seeing LG and Huawei’s Nexus devices aside from obvious expectations of “before 2016.” But if one reputable Korean outlet is to be trusted, the wait won’t be much longer than a month.

It’s being reported that LG is readying the Nexus 5 2015 for a September 29th launch. We’re not sure if the device is set to be sold on the same day it’s announced, though history tells us those two events will happen simultaneously.

We’re also not sure if we can expect Huawei’s first Nexus device to launch the very same day.  The company is said to be making a 5.7-inch phablet for those who have come to love the bigger sizes. We would also expect these devices to share the same official launch date of Android 6.0 Marshmallow, as Google typically ships major OS updates with new Nexus phones and tablets.

Whatever the case may be, we know the device will be one worth keeping an eye on if you couldn’t get down with the massive form factor of the Nexus 6:

  • Snapdragon 808 chipset
  • 5.2-inch 2560 × 1440 display
  • 3GB of RAM
  • 13MP w/ OIS
  • Fingerprint scanner
  • USB Type-C
  • Android 6.0 Marshmallow

Sound like something you wouldn’t mind buying? Let us know if you’ll be in the virtual line for one once they pop up on the Google Store (hopefully) next month.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.
