AT&T halts Android 5.1 update for first gen Moto X

Lollipop

We’re not sure why, but AT&T has halted the Android 5.1 Lollipop update for their first gen Moto X. The news was posted to the company’s online support page, and no other information was provided.

Our first assumption is that they caught a critical bug which will need to be fixed, though there could be a number of other reasons to halt a big software update (such as flawed rollout logistics or other things that might not be directly related to the quality of the update).

We’ll be reaching out to AT&T to see if they have any more information to provide. In the meantime let us know if you’ve seen anything strange with your device if you’ve already gotten the upgrade.
