It wasn’t long ago we gave you guys an exclusive early look at the leather football edition of the new Moto X, and now it’s officially available for Verizon Wireless. For $120 on a new two-year contract, you’re getting the same Moto X we reviewed when it first launched, only its back plate is now covered in the same genuine Horween leather that’s used for official footballs of the National Football League. Not a bad tagline to put on your product in the heat of a very competitive NFL season.
With everything else being the same here’s the list of specs you can expect once you get your hands on it:
- 5.2-inch 1080p display
- 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcom Snapdragon 801 chipset
- 2GB of RAM
- 16GB or 32GB of internal storage
- 2300mAh battery
- Android 4.4 KitKat
Verizon has the football leather edition available in-store and online if you’re interested. It’s $120 on a two-year contract, $22.91 per month on Edge and $550 if you’d prefer to pay full price. Let us know if you’ll be grabbing one for yourself.

Jocks will go for this, but geeks, meh!
Hey VZW.. put some resources into the voice/data updates – something that ACTUALLY matters and is useful. Not a stupid pigskin version of your not even flagship phone.
Will they do baseball and basketball versions as well?
Basketball is too similar and have you seen how much dirt basketballs pick up? Baseball could be interesting if it had real stitching
