Sometimes we have trouble getting information about phones well up to their launch date. Others? Well, we tend to see a bit too much. The Sony Xperia Z3 has been leaked time and time again, but that train isn’t slowing down — now we get a look at the device’s guts. There doesn’t appear to be anything out of the ordinary under the hood, though we can at least rest easy knowing Sony’s hardware expertise still shines through with a very clean, modular setup.

The photo does reveal the exact battery capacity we can expect to see — 3,100mAh, if its label is accurate. We’re not sure what an outlet like iFixIt might rate this thing in the area of repairability, but it seems modular enough that repairs won’t be a massive headache.

The "Google Phone" sounded too awesome to pass up, so I bought a G1. The rest is history. And yes, I know my name isn't Wilson.

  1. THIS is the phone I have my eye on. When you look at some of the leaked specs, it is a beast.

But alas… it will never come to Verizon so it is a pipe dream.

    1. I hear ya. I’ve been considering dumping Verizon for T-Mobile, so this might be the device I’ve been waiting for.

  2. Sony has gotten really good, but each phone looks like the last. The bezels look much thinner this time around on the side.

  3. I really like Sony’s Z series phones. I think my favorite part is that they are water resistant (and not like the S5 which is “water resistant”, but only if you carefully set it into a small amount of clean water for a short period of time and carefully pick it back up). Verizon certainly had a chance to bring the Z2 to market and didn’t, I wonder what the real story behind that is.

  4. Why do people keep calling this phone the Z3 when it is nearly identical to the Z2 =.=?
    More like Z2 for T-Mobile.

    1. Because that is it’s name? Sony has a twice per year flagship release schedule.
