One of the better Twitter apps on Google Play these days has gotten itself a significant upgrade, bringing us to version 2.6.2. Talon’s major version jumps typically come with a huge list of new features and changes, and this one is no different. Talon for Twitter Material design update The biggest changes we’re happy to see are some new themes inspired by Android L. The themes are actually based on the app developer Luke Klinker is building for the Android L Developer Preview, so it’s nice to hear that he’s hard at work on bringing a modern update whenever the final Android L release is ready. You can see a preview of his work in progress up above. You can find downloads for a light version here and a dark version here, but note that they won’t work on anything less than 2.6.2. To install, simply follow these directions:

  1. Download the apk from the link
  2. Install it on your device
  3. Go to Talon’s settings and select it from the add-on themes section of UI Settings
  4. Close the app and swipe it out of recents so the cache clearing takes into effect.

Klinker notes that the profile pages haven’t yet been themed as he has not yet finished the profiles page in the Android L preview app, but we imagine an update will bring us those goods whenever they’re ready down the line. Ready for the rest of the changelog? Check it out: Changelog for 2.6.x
